Mojave Bird has released her original score to "monster,me!" Only Mike (the sound engineer) and I have heard the original score before it was mixed in with the other sounds of the film. Here's your chance to check it out.

MKE Film Festival 2013

I need to send out an enormous "Thank You" to the staff of the Milwaukee Film Festival for the great treatment they show their visiting filmmakers: Cara, Jessica, Benjamin, Brian, Bethany and Matt: You're the best. (And everyone that I only met briefly, but didn't list by name, many thanks for all your help too!)

It was an honor to be included in such a diverse and brilliant collection of films from around the world. Thanks for having us!

Monster,me will play at the Milwaukee Film Festival on Sept. 26 and Oct 5&6, as part of the Kids Shorts: Size Large program.

LA Indie Film Fest

Just got word that the movie will be playing in August at the LA Indie Film Fest. The festival will be held Aug 21 thru Aug 25 at the Let Live Theatre in Hollywood.

Mike's Eclipse Award

Had to share a few shots of the award Mike Dollar earned for his sound editing. Congrats again, Mike!

And since I'm here,… many thanks to everyone at the UICA last Friday for UICAs Open Projector Night finale.  "Monster,me" tied in the audience vote with a great film by Jeremy Knickerbocker. There were a lot of great pieces in the exhibition, so I'm very honored to see our film get that much recognition.

Anima Mundi

There is this animation festival (a rather huge animation festival) in Brazil that I had my fingers crossed that we would get in to,... and I just got word that we did! 

"Monster,me" will be playing in the Panorama section of the festival. So if anyone reading this is in Rio or Sao Paulo, it'll be at theatre near you. (Rio is August 2 -11 and Sao Paulo is Aug 14 -18)

Many thanks to the festival for including us! I'm very honored and excited to be a part of it.

The Grand Rapids Film Festival

This Saturday (May 18) at Noon "monster,me" will play as part of a group of animated & live action films at the Grand Rapids Film Festival.

Two Cool Things

I recently got word that "monster,me" was accepted into the Grand Rapids Film Festival (May 15-19). Looking forward to seeing the collection of films they've brought together.

And Mike Dollar received the Eclipse Award for Sound Engineering for his work on "monster,me" at last nights ceremony. Congrats to Mike! Awesome job, my friend.

The AAFF

I would like to send out a thank you to the Ann Arbor Film Festival staff for a great week of films and presentations. Over the last few days I met a lot of passionate filmmakers, animators and film-fans.

And to the man from the back row that during the Q&A commented on how he appreciated the subtleties of the monster's/girl's skin transitioning in color and texture during her transformation: Dude, you rock!  You were in the back row and you still picked up on a detail that took weeks in production to get right,… thanks for noticing. It got hectic afterward and I didn't get to thank you in person.

Ann Arbor Film Festival

Monster,me will be playing this coming Sunday at the Ann Arbor Film Festival in the Regional Competition at the Michigan Theater.

It looks like a great collection of work and I'm honored to be part of it. If you're in the area, I hope to see you there.

Film Festival!

Just received word that "monster,me" has been accepted to the Ann Arbor Film Festival! The notice said it is scheduled to play at the Michigan Theater on Sunday, March 24th. I'll post more details as I receive them.

And earlier this week at the UICA, the movie won the audience vote at the Open Projector Night series. So, many thanks to everyone who was there for the support! And thanks to the UICA for supporting local film makers!
