Anima Mundi

There is this animation festival (a rather huge animation festival) in Brazil that I had my fingers crossed that we would get in to,... and I just got word that we did! 

"Monster,me" will be playing in the Panorama section of the festival. So if anyone reading this is in Rio or Sao Paulo, it'll be at theatre near you. (Rio is August 2 -11 and Sao Paulo is Aug 14 -18)

Many thanks to the festival for including us! I'm very honored and excited to be a part of it.

The Grand Rapids Film Festival

This Saturday (May 18) at Noon "monster,me" will play as part of a group of animated & live action films at the Grand Rapids Film Festival.

This collection of films will be playing at the UICA (this theatre is awesome, in my humble opinion). Hope to see you there!

Two Cool Things

I recently got word that "monster,me" was accepted into the Grand Rapids Film Festival (May 15-19). Looking forward to seeing the collection of films they've brought together.

And Mike Dollar received the Eclipse Award for Sound Engineering for his work on "monster,me" at last nights ceremony. Congrats to Mike! Awesome job, my friend.

The AAFF

I would like to send out a thank you to the Ann Arbor Film Festival staff for a great week of films and presentations. Over the last few days I met a lot of passionate filmmakers, animators and film-fans.

And to the man from the back row that during the Q&A commented on how he appreciated the subtleties of the monster's/girl's skin transitioning in color and texture during her transformation: Dude, you rock!  You were in the back row and you still picked up on a detail that took weeks in production to get right,… thanks for noticing. It got hectic afterward and I didn't get to thank you in person.

Ann Arbor Film Festival

Monster,me will be playing this coming Sunday at the Ann Arbor Film Festival in the Regional Competition at the Michigan Theater.

It looks like a great collection of work and I'm honored to be part of it. If you're in the area, I hope to see you there.

Film Festival!

Just received word that "monster,me" has been accepted to the Ann Arbor Film Festival! The notice said it is scheduled to play at the Michigan Theater on Sunday, March 24th. I'll post more details as I receive them.

And earlier this week at the UICA, the movie won the audience vote at the Open Projector Night series. So, many thanks to everyone who was there for the support! And thanks to the UICA for supporting local film makers!

The monster premiered,…

Many thanks to everyone that came out (approximately 160) for the opening this past Friday!  Your support and encouragement was greatly appreciated! And you made the Q&A after the film a lot of fun, especially with all the questions from the kids. It was incredibly satisfying to see the film spark so much interest with them!

I also want to thank Ryan Burkholder of Organisum and Ryan Dittmer, Brandon Belote, Nick Hartman and Taylor Greenfield of the UICA for all their assistance in the weeks running up the event. And thanks again to Angie and Angie for showing their film with ours. The audience really enjoyed it.
